Synopsis

Brother's Keeper is a story about the unfairness of life and the struggle to forgive. Orphaned as young boys, identical twins Andy and Pete look after one another as they grow up in 1950s small-town Georgia. Andy struggles to stay out of trouble and find his purpose in life, while Pete seeks the guidance of God and thrives. Pete's plans to attend seminary in the fall collapse when he avenges his fiancee's murder. The brothers' bond is tested when Pete is sentenced to the electric chair. While on death row, the hopelessness of his sentence challenges Pete's faith in God. Meanwhile, Andy joins the seminary and goes on a spiritual journey to discover his own faith. Andy's new faith and his undying love for his brother allow him to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to save Pete and to find the courage to forgive.
