Breaking all box office records for the documentary in Taiwan and Hong Kong, GO GRANDRIDERS, chronicles a group of 17 senior citizens who embark on what may be the most daring adventure of their lives: a 13-day, 700+ mile entirely-on-motorcycle tour around the island of Taiwan. Among the 17 Grandriders (many of them learning how to ride for the first time) one is a housewife, two have had cancer, four need hearing aids, five suffer from high blood pressure, eight have coronary disease, and every one has symptoms of joint disease. Their trip brings harrowing escapes, pure exhilaration, and somber reflection. Since the film's debut, the "Bu Lao" spirit, translated as "forever young", has become a movement in Taiwan and wherever the film has been shown. This past August, in conjunction with the film's US theatrical debut, 10 Grandriders visited the US as guests of the BMW Club of Northern California and road as passengers on motorcycles from San Jose to Los Angeles, meeting fans, visiting nursing homes, and spreading their indomitable "Bu Lao" spirit.
